Sablé region – Fight against the Asian hornet
The Asian hornet with yellow legs is now well established in our region. It poses a threat to biodiversity, particularly to bees, and also a risk to residents when nests are located near homes or public places.
Faced with this situation, the Pays Sabolien has set up a collective organization to coordinate the fight against the Asian hornet across all the municipalities concerned, including Bouessay.
A coordinated action across the territory
The fight against the Asian hornet is more effective when carried out collectively. The Pays Sabolien region coordinates efforts between municipalities, local stakeholders, and specialized organizations to implement coherent actions tailored to the area.
This organization allows:
improved monitoring,
clear information for residents
coordination of interventions
monitoring of actions over time.
The actions implemented
The action plan is based primarily on:
the detection and reporting of nests,
safe intervention when necessary,
prevention and public information,
monitoring the presence of the Asian hornet from one year to the next.
These actions are carried out in conjunction with specialist partners, including the GDSA, and local authorities.
The square of Bouessay
The municipality of Bouessay is fully committed to this territorial approach. The actions carried out locally are an integral part of the plan coordinated by the Pays Sabolien.
This website aims to inform the residents of Bouessay about:
ongoing actions,
the steps to follow if a nest is discovered,
preventive measures,
the role of the various actors involved.
A collective and sustainable approach
The presence of the Asian hornet is a long-term issue. The efforts undertaken by the Pays Sabolien region therefore aim to limit its impact, protect biodiversity, and ensure the safety of residents through collective and organized action.
